What is the Study?

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is common in adults with heart failure and is associated with an increased risk of sudden cardiac death. Randomized trials of implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) have largely excluded persons with advanced to moderate CKD. This study integrates data from national health care systems to perform a comparative effective study testing the efficacy and safety of ICDs in patients with CKD.
