Global Innovation Fund Award

Congratulations to Dr. Susan Wong, associate professor (Nephrology) who has received a tier 2 research award from the UW Global Innovation Fund for her project “Building robust models of conservative kidney management.”
Dr. Wong will conduct an ethnographic study and realist evaluation of exemplar models of conservative kidney management (CKM) for patients with kidney failure who forgo kidney replacement therapy in the United Kingdom. The overarching goal of this work is to assess the feasibility of adopting UK models of CKM for implementation in the US. The Global Innovation Fund provides $20,000 of seed funding for transformative, cross-disciplinary, cross-continent research collaborations.
