Biography

Sam was diagnosed with kidney disease in 1995 and soon began dialysis in 1996. He’s been a CAPD patient twice and has had two kidney transplants at UW Medical Center. Currently retired, he previously served as an executive coach for Vistage International. Prior to that, he grew from Project Analyst to President and Board Member of Space Applications Corporation, a $30 million aerospace engineering services company. Sam has applied his skills and experience from his business career to board positions with a number of nonprofit organizations. These include serving as board member, current and past president of the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP), serving on the inaugural board of the Kidney Health Initiative (KHI) and helping to start and serving on the initial KHI Patient Family Partnership Council (PFPC).
