Subbulaxmi Trikudanathan, MD, MMSc, is a board-certified endocrinologist, medical director of the UW Medicine Diabetes Institute and a UW associate professor of Medicine and Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition.

Dr. Trikudanathan’ s patient care approach revolves around tailoring therapies according to individual needs, keeping a keen eye on the bigger picture and quality of life. She strives to empower and motivate patients with knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about their health.

Dr. Trikudanathan earned her MD from Madras Medical College in India and Master of Medical Sciences (MMSc) from Harvard Medical School.  Her clinical and research interests include diabetes, PCOS, women’s health and osteoporosis. She has conducted several phase 3 trials in newer diabetes medications and devices. She is actively involved in clinical research with a focus on diabetes, PCOS, NAFLD and cardiometabolic outcomes.
