- Understanding molecular mechanisms underlying diseases, such as kidney diseases, cancer, and Alzheimer's disease, from big data.
- Developing powerful machine learning techniques to predict patient outcomes and provide explanations for predictions with applications in anesthesiology and nephrology.
- Developing machine learning techniques to match cancer patients with the best combinations of chemotherapy drugs.
- Understanding how the human genome interacts with regulatory proteins from functional sequencing data.
