what is The Study?
To characterize the concentration dependent Cfilt of cortisol and cortisone following treatment with synthetic cortisol and incorporate these values into a mechanistic kidney model based on primary renal epithelial cells populated into Transwell™ cultures. In addition, we will Identify kidney transporters that contribute to active secretion of cortisol in the kidney and quantify the magnitude of increase in active transport of cortisol and cortisone following in vitro treatment with cortisol.
